So… I wasn’t going to do NanoWrimo this year. Mainly because I completed Camp NanoWrimo in April (and one NanoWrimo a year is enough for anyone), but also because life is super busy. But then I started thinking… there are two months left of this year, what can I do to ensure that I look back on 2014 as being epic? And all I could think of was:
I can write three novels!!!!
So… I’ve written Wrapped in Darkness and I’ve written Chemicals Collide, so I may as well embrace the challenge and pen another!
Which of you crazy people are going to join me?!
I’m going to write the last book of my fantasy series. Since the one before it ends with lots of people dead, I’m getting nearly a whole new cast to play about with, plus procephies and special powers!. Yay!

I love your enthusiasm. I am doing Nano again this year after finishing last year and wanting that feeling of achievement again. November is crazy busy for me but I am committed!
Good Luck in Nano.

I have done NaNo since 2006 with only one year absence because I was forced to move at that time. That said last year was the first year I moved from participant to winner status and I am hungry again. I have upped the ante this time though and want a book that is fit to publish when all is said and done so I am doing a little more planning this time. I have always felt November was the big NaNo thing all the rest is what you make time for but you don’t miss November.
Blessings and Cheers!

Yep! I’m prepared! 😀 what’s the genre you’re going to focus on?

I have no clue whatsoever… maybe an urban fantasy or something. I’m clearly very prepared!

No. Nanowrimo got me started on this binge I’ve been on (nine! novels written and then fixed up since 2007, some of them good) but the rhythm is a bit fast for me. I can manage 500-1000 words per day but 2000 seems out of reach with a full time job and a family. But: you go, kid.

Every month is NanoWrimo for me. I personally don’t think a good novel can be written in only a month

I’m on the fence. I’ve made way more progress planning things out and feel confident I could get a decent rough draft going, but looking at the calendar, I don’t know that I have the time. Which I know is the whole point. Maybe ask me again next week?

I just finished the first draft for the last chapter in my first book. (Did that sentence make any sense?) I will be using NaNoWriMo to set up the next book in me nascent series. Last year was really helpful in getting me moving forward.

I am! It’s my third year participating and I’m the most excited I’ve ever been. I’m nearly going crazy waiting for November 1. I think it’s because I finally know myself better as a writer this time around: I’m better prepared, I’m staying true to what interests me best (not what I think I might be interested in), and I’ve learned from past mistakes that prevented me from succeeding.
Glad to hear you’re a part of it this year too–good luck 🙂

I had set my novel aside for many months while I write short stories. Now I will jump back into it! Really looking forward to that. I should touch up its outline before Saturday.

I’ll be joining you. The camp was fun but I’ve always been more productive with the November push!
Good luck!

I don’t have any ideas for a novel so I’m doing something a little different. I write a lot of poems so I do Robert Lee Brewer’s PAD challenges on his Poetic Asides blog. He posts a prompt a day which inspires you to write a poem a day for a month. Like NANOWRIMO, he does it in November and April, and I’m looking forward to the November challenge. My latest collection, That’s Life, consists mostly of poems inspired by prompts in last November’s challenge. I’ve just finished putting together another collection inspired by last April’s challenge.

I am thinking over it as well, I just finished with my non fiction so I am a little tired, but I still need to finish my novel and nanowri is a goof kick in the pants. We’ll do what makes sense for us. 😀

I intend to. On the other hand, I’ve done it several times before and never got very far. I’m not very good at making one thing in life the overriding priority, even for one month. Apart from a few girlfriends.

You’re SO enthusiastic at the prospect of writing another 50,00 words in 30 days! LOL You’ve obviously found your calling, because Nanowrimo definitely isn’t for everyone (*coughs* me *coughs). Best of luck with your goals, I’m sure something truly amazing will come of it. 🙂

I keep thinking I should use NaNoWriMo to work on a nonfiction piece, actually — there’s a lot of mathematics I think I could popularize pretty well — but then the press of writing the usual daily stuff kind of overwhelms the chance to write a bigger project.

I’ll be there! This is my 7th year participating in NaNoWriMo

November is the scariest time of year for me.
I decided to participate again this year just a few days ago. I’m terrified. I’m pen-magus, if you would like to buddy up with me.
Best of Luck to Everyone!!! I think we will all need it.
