What books are you going to read in 2016?

I spent most of 2015 reading books that were sent to me from publishers, which was amazing because I discovered so many new authors and titles I never would have picked up before. But for the first few months of this year, I wouldn’t mind flicking back through the “popular” books on GoodReads to see what I’ve missed. I love flicking through the monthly and yearly popular books on GoodReads (for those of you who are unfamiliar with it, check out the popular books of 2015 here).

For example, this year I’ve already read A Court of Thorns and Roses and An Ember in the Ashes, which turned out to be 4 and 5 star reads for me, that both came from the top 10 books of 2015.

So I’m keen to flick back through the past few years to see what other amazing books I can find!

What do you plan on reading this year?

I’ll try to read a mix of old classics and new releases. There are still so many classics out there that I haven’t read, that would really be worth a read – but then, every year so many new good books are released, too! It’s so hard to choose where to begin! But I think I’ve made my mind up on starting off with re-reading Stephen King’s memoirs “On writing”. As a writer, there are so many invaluable tips and words inspirations in that book!

I’ll be reading An Ember In The Ashes since I didn’t get to it last year. ACoTaR was a great story, but I had problems with the heroine that took off a couple of stars. I’m looking forward to reading ACoMaF this year though. There are lots of 2014 and 2015 releases that I’ll be reading this year, as well as some older ones.

I’ve got a Court of Thorns and Roses and Ember In The Ashes on my own enormously out of control TBR pile, however I’ll be aiming to read A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab and The Red Rising trilogy by Pierce Brown

My plan is to read the books from my TBR shelf! Specially the ones that have been for years waiting for me. Some of them are nonfiction, but I also want to read fiction…except young adult, I think I’m tired of some cliches…

I recently joined two book clubs so no doubt I’ll be reading a good selection from that. I’m also quickly getting my way through some graphic novels. Ones I want to read this year is Room (wanted to read it before and the moive trailer reminded me!) and Margaret Atwood’s latest novel, which I’m waiting to come out in paperback to add to my collection!
