Recommend me… Your favourite recent read

Welcome to a new little facet of my blog. Every now and then I’m going to post a “Recommend me…” blog post. It will be a way for all of us to share our favourite novels with each other and also to find some new reading material.

The series to far:
“Recommend Me”… a book that made you laugh
“Recommend Me”… a fantasy novel.
“Recommend Me”… a science fiction novel.
“Recommend Me”… a romance novel
“Recommend Me”… a music related book
“Recommend Me”… a colouring book

This time, recommend me…

Your favourite recent read!

I’m currently in the middle of The Wrath & The Dawn by Renee Ahdieh and I’m loving it!

What is an amazing book you’ve read recently?

  1. Oooh! I want to read that. I am currently reading City of Bones because I am apparently the only person on the planet who hasn’t read it. But I’m hooked already. I finished The Nest this morning. It wasn’t bad!

My favorite recent read has to be Lonesome Dove. It was a long read, but it was so worth it. I can definitely see why it won a Pulitzer. The characters were great and the storytelling put you right in the moment. It is a favorite movie of mine, so I HAD to read the book and I was not disappointed. If old-timey westerns are your thing, I think you’ll enjoy it.

  5. Arms and the Man by George Bernard Shaw is my favorite romance story.
I’d also like to recommend my own novel, Curious Cases: the Adventures of Victor McGill and Daniel Fernandez. I haven’t really gotten any reviews on amazon (just 2 from my editor and a friend) and I’m just curious to see what people’s impression of it is.

I haven’t quite finished it but my most recent read is “Thrive” by Ariana Huffington. It’s so cool. She advocates (among other things) for more sleep and wellness. I’m in!

  9. I don’t know if you’ve read it already, but I recently read Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard and thought it was great. My favourite book though is a The Book Thief by Markus Zusak!
